Naah, honestly i don't think putin has even a year at this point, more like months.

@chillsy_pluto I don't care about his physical state. I just know how unhappy people around him currently are, and with every day they become more and more unhappy.

@JerryCrow Ehm, what are you talking about? I definitely hate pootin, but ANY citizenship is better than NO citizenship. Roman is allowed to stay in Georgia ONLY because of the russian passport, otherwise he would be kicked out.
5
He already explained it 1000 times - he still wants to visit his family in Russia. Calling it a "war" can potentially lead to arrest right on the border. The word needs to be said in a particular context though, but nobody knows what that context is exactly (basically majority of putin's laws work like that - you can't say for sure if something is illegal or not until they arrest you).
5
He literally has no passport other than russian. And it's FAR from easy to get a different one.
4
@JerryCrow You know nothing about how passports work.
4
Ehm... It's EU, right? No chance a regular russian will get a permission right now.
2
You can get a refugee status only if you were arrested for political views and documented it, anti-war and anti-putin views that is. Yes. I think it's completely normal and there shouldn't be a discussion about it.
2
I'm not Roman but as an average anti-putin russian i'll give you my answer. Before the war i doubt it might've happened in the near future because putin's regime was full of western money, but now Russia has a slight chance to become a democracy. Essentially putin's regime commited suicide on february 24th. I'm not happy about it since the war is not worth it, but it is what it is. Ukraine now has a chance to join the EU & become a great country, and Russia has a chance to get rid of this imperial plague.

@michael.shishov oh right it was a Georgia joke lol Im stoopid
2
He gets it in a sense that that's just how things are & world works. People be hatin'.
2
Russian here. We don't care - concentrate on helping Ukraine & ukrainian people & ukrainian army. We can bring up this "hating on russians" issue once the war is over. Right now is not the time.

Where are you from?
1
wtf
1
He won't
1
Max Katz actually made a video about this issue like yesterday... He also has english subs so you can watch it.
1
Roman! I think i have a lifehack: call it the "so-called special military operation" and not just "special military operation".
1
Nope, most arrests are for 15 days. You can get a refugee status after that.
1
Nah it doesn't really work like that. Plus he was in Saint-Petersburg, putin avoids getting his troops from big cities - it's poor & distant regions in absolute majority (more than 90% of all troops). People would be mad if coffins start coming into big developed cities, so putin avoids that - he's kind of smart in an evil way.

I would never play battlefield with a finn as a russian... I will always be losing...
1
No way. Putin won't be able to start another war after Ukraine. And if you ask me, putin has a couple of months left and then Russia will experience huge democratic change.
1
@JerryCrow Georgia was literally invaded by Russia and 20% of it's territorry is occupied, so it's very much an anti-russia & anti-putin state. And yet, russian citizenship still works there, as it should. Because the world is more complicated than you think. Regular citizens doesn't equal the government. Regular citizens doesn't equal war criminals. Regular citizens doesn't necessarily support the whole thing. True russian patriots protest & go to jail (they would never burn their passport). Your analogy with nazi germany doesn't work because regular german citizens weren't condemned & considered nazis after the war.
1
EU doesn't make an "exception", it's very strict and law-based.
1
It's not easy for a russian to visit the US
1
@TyGoesFast He can't be too open about the war in Ukraine because of censorship laws so it would be weird if he starts to actively fight with hate against russians. It would seem like he works for putin or something. Right now is not the right time. Once the war is over & putin loses he may address this issue.
1
@east-efficiency Ehm... That's how it is - they check your criminal record on the border (in the airport) and if you have an opened case they arrest you.
1
You gotta understand, even russians that support pootin are mostly the victims of his propaganda. Sure, Ukrainians are the true victims here and all attention should be on them, but we shouldn't fight agression with agression if we are NOT on the battlefield. We should support ukrainians & help normal russians fight with putin & his propaganda.
