@henning8737 An even better idea: wait a year or two until the war is frozen (ceasefire) and visit then. Political climate will be much better at that point. And yes, neither side is gonna win this, it will be a frozen conflict, i think it's obvious at this point.

@davidgfisher Wtf are you talking about? Do you actually live here? Yes, prices on oil went up dramatically 20 years ago + we slightly got what free market is and buiseness started to pay a lot of taxes, but for the last 6-8 years things only get worse. People live way better in Poland, Lithuania etc. BUT i was talking about our local government in St. Petersburg to begin with, so what are you talking about exactly?

 @henning8737 Well, it depends really. Don't share your opinion on politics would be a great advice (unless it aligns with Kremlin's world view). Otherwise it's probably gonna be safe.

@henning8737 Well, our authorities have a tendency to touch only those who "stand out" too much, for example have a blog with large audience, participate in political activism, share their opinion etc, and even then they just deport you in 99% of cases. So... Yes it's relatively safe. BUT. I would still wait until the war is frozen, it is a good idea to wait a bit.
