New people are not experts.

@apollo7557 It's still nice that they're trying.

Toyota, today also has that cylinder swirl technique!

Ya, sadly I believe you're right on that one, since that they mentioned the cams are now 1:1 to the crank, it's spinning 2x the conventional speed so 5krpm is red line 10krpm! Racing cam speeds! So to fix that Mazda's gonna have to put super stiff springs for 14k-21k rpm! Yet, hopefully they can commercialize F1 air valve shocks for that!:)

@paulhollier6382 Yeah, maybe like a single piston range extender
3
Why not just use a twin scroll to compress air into it instead of this leaky design ?

Hopefully Mazda can commercialize formula 1's air shock valves for this increased camshaft speed! I believe this is the weak link to this engine. Or, have racing dual spring sizes for the valves, standard. I also wonder if lower octane fuel has a faster burn rate so it would also raise the rpm or maybe the opposite since it'll be less refined, closer to that of diesel. Lastly, I find it interesting that Mazda didn't use a rotary as an air pump.

There are cleaner lawn care 2t engines that leak clean air in front of the transfer ports so it's clean air 1st then a/f mixture, since the 90's-Present (RedMax: Strato-Charged). :)

I see why they made a diesel version, because they rev less. I've been thinking of making a wall that helps move the gasses like this, i wouldn't have imagine f1 speeds. Interesting that it's essentially a valve :).

I think i got unsubscribed, or i thought i already subscribed on the 1st video i saw.

Yeah, I heard some bad things about JD Power on Donut Media indridcold8433

I love hybrids so much, I can't wait to see the electrified version of this beast of a THICC Prius! :D
1
Yeah i noticed that gassing it sent the fuel back, & braking sent the fuel to the engine.

Lastly, i noticed some hot rods have a tank up front, maybe it's the gas tank? to send the fuel to the engine when accelerating

Long love Honda!

What kinda of opposed piston engine? Like boxers and flat engines or the ones with the ports in the middle of the 2 pistons? Toyota is trying hydrogen, which I think is not a very good idea since a fuel cell is far more efficient, but at least Toyota has that swirl air charge technique in their newer engines. 🙂

Nvm not boxers and flat engines!
1
Yeah I'm pretty sure piston slap won't release the toxic material into the air. S/

@TrueEventsin3D hi

I was actually surprised Ford was know for their reliability back then, unlike now where they want you to be reliant on their parts

I belive it was the yards :) @Guillaume_F

cool that this car gets a cool 10 miles to the gallon :)

& super chargers have high parasitic losses, I'm not sure if Mazda chose a roots types blower like in the animation but it doesn't help for gains stand point. Optimistically, they can put an electric center fugal super charger/turbo for that, turbos have gone a long since. Maybe they can do a bi turbo setup like the recent 2024 production i4 diesel sprinter van from Mercedes. 🙂

Np :)
