  7. James West — Mars is a closed system, except for solar energy input. So is Earth, but it has a developed civilization adapted to life on Earth.

  8. You need to study the solar system, paying particular attention to the conditions on various orbs, their distance, and the time required for orbits to align, then try to answer your own question.
