  5.  @jasonarthurs3885  — A paradox is an absurd, esp. self-contradictory statement. Fermi’s statement was just an ordinary question. He is reported to have said, merely: “Where are they?” There are several reasonable answers, some of which were offered by Fermi himself. This was just casual lunchroom conversation. I don’t think Fermi did any actual work on this problem. He was a serious scientist.
