I use a basket. If you need a cart, you are buying too much.

@johndong7524 — wrong

Wanting to make sales is not unique to Target.

I have no trouble getting help from employees at Target. And I have never had a cashier there with a bad attitude. Maybe the problem is local to your store.

“Usanians” is the term I prefer.

Target mismanaged the move into Canada, so Canadians are stuck with Wal-Mart. Their loss.

I’m a man. I go to Target for laundry detergent and such. If they don’t have what I want that day, I come back another time. It isn’t a big deal if they are out of something.

Targat failed in Canada because they badly mismanaged the expansion into Canada. They are successful in the States not because we are “obsessed” (we are not), but simply because they have the highest customer satisfaction in their class. Wal-Mart has the lowest.

I don’t know what people mean by Target being “woke.” I buy laundry detergent and such there, because they have what I want. Whatever they are doing that people hate, I haven’t noticed.

I shop there for household cleaning products, and a few other things, because they have what I want in the brand and size I want. They are close and convenient. Isn’t that enough reason?

What do barristas have to do with Target? Who would go there for coffee?

Target mismanaged the expansion. That’s pretty much the whole story. They opened a lot of stores all over Canada at the outset. They should have opened just a few in Ontario, then fine-tuned the operation, making adjustments as needed before expanding further. What I read in comments from Canadians is that it was too expensive. Target may be more expensive than Wal-Mart. That’s fine with me. I don’t want Wal-Mart shoppers coming over to Target. Call me a snob; I don’t care. If Canadians are satisfied being stuck with Wal-Mart, they can have it their way. Didn’t Canadians lose their own store in that market segment? Why did that happen?

It isn’t “forced” at my Target.

No, it is also the wider aisles and generally more pleasant shopping experience. If slightly higher prices keeps the riff-raff away, I’m for it.

That junk from China is sold everywhere, not just Target.
1
They are not, because in that category of store Target ranks at the top of the customer satisfaction ratings, and Wal-Mart at the bottom.
