The rocket was engineered in US units. I’m sure he is familiar with Metric units as well.

Not really explosive. It burns. If the rocket broke open, as the shuttle Challenger fuel tank did, you would get a rapid burn, but not technically an explosion.

There were hundreds of engineers working on the Saturn V. Thousands, if you count all subcontractors involved. The F-1 engine was designed and built by Rocketdyne. The chief engineer was Samuel Kurtz Hoffman.
