If a sensor were damaged by a bird strike, it might be that airports with better bird control would be less likely to see the problem, but that is merely statistical. An AoA sensor can be damaged in different ways that can happen at any airport, and that can cause the flight controls to go berserk. It is not acceptable design anywhere.
