  2. I expect the crew didn’t chock the tires. It wouldn’t be necessary to hit the gas. If it were in neutral without the brake set, inertia would cause it to roll.

  12. I have been on many ferries in Puget Sound and elsewhere without being required to leave my car. This ferry makes short trips. It would be normal for people to stay in their cars.
