  3. demoskunk — The only people who oppose mail ballots are those who want to manipulate elections by impeding turnout in districts which lean toward their opponents. The can do this by having a small number of polling places, inconveniently located, and by removing voters from the rolls for one reason or another. It is much easier to manipulate polling stations than it is the USPS. A ballot filled out at home and mailed or otherwise delivered to the bureau of elections is validated in the same way as a ballot cast at a polling station. There is no evidence of significant fraud in vote-by-mail elections.
