  2. Not really. The DC-10 latches were poorly designed. This accident was not due to bad design. I think it is pretty clear that the plug door was installed without all the parts. When properly installed, it is a good design.

  3. The CG is not a problem. Boeing likely is designing a new aircraft, but it will be several years out. In the meantime, the 737 keeps selling because it gives the customers what they eant. They don’t want groundings, though, so Boeing should be working harder to restore confidence in the aircraft. This accident is obviously a setback.
