Why haven’t they charged Baldwin? He should be pleading his case to a jury, not the media.

I didn’t hear anything that calls for suspension. Argument, sure, but not suspension. Just tell her why her interpretation is wrong, and move on. This is being blown out of proportion.

They are trying to sort out the complications of who contributed what to this tragedy, but there is one simple fact that is undisputed. One person was handling the firearm that killed Hutchins — Alec Baldwin.
12
The charge should be murder-2. Is there any evidence the victim tried to break down the door, other than the shooter’s statement? Just knocking on the door doesn’t amount to an attempted breakin. It is better to wait for an intruder to actually break the door before shooting.

@cynthiaking4281 — This is not political. You don’t have to be a Republican to believe in firearm safety.

When I see videos such as the farmer’s video here, and other photos, it seems to me thete is enough visibility for a driver who is following the protocol: stop, look, and listen. If I couldn’t see when stopped short of the track, I would get out and check.

He is her son and this was a memorial for his father. It is inappropriate to politicize it in this way.

It’s an update on the old lecture from your mom: If your friend (GPS) told you to jump off a ciff (drive into the harbor), would you?
7
Unclear? “Wrongful death” is something as a result of which you sue for money damages. It is basic. The only question is: who all will be sued?
7
I don’t understand why these systems are even allowed. My entire career was in the computer business. I don’t want a computer steering my car.
7
The timing just didn’t work out, but they caught her. Why argue with success?
7
The comments are rough because culpable people want their involvement swept under the rug. It’s an old game — everybody clam up and it will blow over.
6
Only because they didn't think it was him. This act, if he did it, is out of character with the person they knew.
6
This story is not accurate and your understanding of the situation at the house is not accurate. It should become clear at the trial.
5
“One in a trillion” is an absurd figure. People are saying real firearms should be banned from movie sets? It would make more sense to ban Alec Baldwin and to tighten the protocols. For example, armorers should have stronger certification, and they should not be allowed to have other duties.
5
"Linebacker vs. water boy." What a great line!
4
I think you are wrong there. The union members walked off and the union will stick together.
4
It is called a necropsy.
4
It isn't exactly a fight. It is just a delaying tactic. His attorney wants time to talk to him, and to see all the evidence against him before he is sent out of state.
4
Brakes were not the main issue in this case, despite all the talk.
3
A TSA employee.
3
Actually, a customer noticed him.
3
Not to mention avoid pointing the muzzle toward people.
3
Baldwin knows the film industry’s safety rules, he just didn’t follow them.
3
Will the homeowners be reimbursed for repairs to the house?
3
Whatever consequences come from this will take some time, because we have due process in this country. Removal from duty is administrative and may be done immediately.
2
Failure to apply and enforce film industry firearm safety protocols.
2
Motive is not an element of a crime. I don't care what his motive was.
2
With millions of people going throu US airports every year, it is not suprising that one oerson manages to evade security. Nothing is perfect.
2
I've had an episode of it. It can be painful and debilitating.
2
They don't get to. He was arrested. It's in the title.
2
It was a quick escape, not carefully planned.
2
That car speeding through water and crashing illustrates the incompetence of many California drivers.
2
This isn’t about partisan politics.
2
How did he get past the boarding pass check at the gate?
2
Orcas aren’t whales, either. They’re dolphins.
2
That is a pretty slim basis for drawing a conclusion. People are complicated and often not rational. It is not unusual for people to do things that mess up their lives. We don’t need to understand motive, which is not an element of the crime. We just need to know what happened and who committed the crimes. The conclusion is reached by a jury, considering all the evidence presented at trial.
2
If somebody were stalking you with homicidal intent, you would.
2
The Republican Party has become an enemy of democratic government.
2
Since the lawyers disagree with the judge on the extent of his authority, a court of appeals will have to resolve it. There is no need to settle it here.
2
That is not an accurate account. We will have to wait for testimony at trial to get the facts straight, because I don’t expect the survivors to talk about it until then.
2
You seem clueless about how attorneys work. They don't speculate based on what they hear on the news. They need documentation.
2
A suit can’t be grounds for dismissal, because people would file baseless suits just to get rid of people. This suit is certainly warranted, however. I hope she wins enough to retire from teaching if she desires. I’m sure she wouldn’t want to go back to the same district.
2
Not actually female then? Was the shooter biologically male?
2
The people who condone this overestimate their strength. They are a tiny fraction of the people.
2
He did think it was off. She didn’t put a lot in at once.
2
Baldwin is the most culpable. I think he wants Gutierrez-Reed to be the scapegoat.
2
He shot one real bullet, which struck both victims. The gun was a .45. The bullet went through her.
2
Baldwin is the person most responsible. He cocked the hammer, pointed the muzzle toward two people, and pulled the trigger.
2
Her death is a mystery.
