  2. He was a local, born in 1967 and raised in North Bend, WA. He was always reserved and introverted, and somehow morphed into a paranoid with a doomsday outlook and a willingness to commit homicide to protect his secret hideout in the woods. Of course the arson and homicides were his undoing. This is just from reports easily found online. I don't think anyone has an explanation for how someone goes over the brink like this.
