  1. It seems to me that a non-British EU citizen who has been living in UK for some time and not been in trouble should have no difficulty getting permanent resident status. As for UK citizens traveling in the EU after separation, I have visited several EU countries in recent years from a country outside the EU and it has not been particularly difficult. Rather easy, actually.
