  2. It doesn’t matter if Trump accepts the results or not. The President does not count the vote. If Trump is not reelected, he will cease to be President at noon on inauguration day. At that moment, the Secret Service, and all other government agencies which interact directly with the President, will stop taking orders from him.

  3. John sweda — The system has worked fairly well for a long time. Nobody “dictates.” Each state chooses its slate of electors. The electors vote and Congress counts the votes and certifies the result. The fact that the election bureaucracy is divided among the states makes it much harder to corrupt.
