  13. I am not trying to be funny. I grew up on the Oregon Coast. I learned at an early age to respect the ocean. I know of cases in recent years when people were washed off rocks next to the surf. It isn't just so-called "sneaker" waves (we used to call them "rogue" waves), which are rare, but normal variation in the pattern of the waves. When I go to the coast today, I have a tide table and I spend some time watching the surf to understand the local pattern.

"Recall" is a product of the Progressive Movement ca. 1900. On the issue of whether Mayor Thao should be recalled, I am for recall.
