  1. Kevin Knotts — You don’t need any reason to relieve a commander. Commanding a ship is not a right. If a superior doesn’t like the way you are going about your job, you can be replaced. No actual “offense” required. In this case, broadcasting your complaints widely is offense enough anyway.

  6. I have no military experience, but it seems to me not to be controversial that he was relieved. Commanding a Navy ship is not a right. He can be removed anytime and it seems appropriate here.
