  1. The ballot access for independents issue was fought out in 1976, when Eugene McCarthy ran as an independent. There are a lot of precedents, but the major parties will never stop trying to protect their duopoly.

  2. I agree with RFK Jr. that most people don't want a rerun of Biden vs. Trump. There was a poll on that quite awhile back. I won't vote for either, but I want to hear two things from Kennedy before I can vote for him: 1. total withdrawal from Ukraine in all respects; 2. repudiation of anti-vaccine nuttery. This is the worst election year I have faced. There are no statesmen. I may have to write someone in.
