  2. If you check the ColoradoFans.com website, you will see that most people who had this problem in their truck had it fixed by GM. For the 8-speed, it is usually just a matter of putting new ATF in it. When you look at a site discussing the lawsuit, you get a skewed picture of the problem.

  4. Probably the 8-speed. That problem was caused by improper fluid in some of the transmissions. Flushing and replacing the fluid should fix it.

  5. Most 8-speeds that have this problem have the wrong ATF. They need new fluid and maybe a new torque converter.

  6.  @kalanikaau1  — I’m not sure how they came to be made with poor ATF, but I follow ColoradoFans.com. Most owners there who have reported problems with 8-speed have said that new fluid fixed it. Not all 8-speeds have the problem.
