I think these are Boeing parts. Boeing designs the attachments of the engines to the airframe. The engine supplier would not do that.

He was already in communication with the controller, so there was no need to get his attention. A "Mayday" call is needed to break into a channel to get attention.
6
That would be far more expensive and less reliable. It is very rare that the black boxes are not recovered from a crash.
5
There is also a visual indicator on the front of an engine.

Biden is in much better shape than the other guy. Some people may not be aware that Biden has had a life long speech impediment, which he has had to overcome in order to be a success in a field which requires much public speaking. It is still evident when he speaks, but it is not severe.
5
Not many have. However, you should note that the crew chief (O'Hara) was responsible for the safety of the flight. It was his job to be aware of hazards.
5
The rely on external power, which may come from either engine or the APU.

@turquoiseowl — No, they are in normal position. These aircraft are fairly close to the ground when parked.
2
It certainly was not "picture oerfect." A perfect emergency landing would have gone straight in after the emergency was declared. They were on final and configured for kanding. Why try to go around? As for the landing after going to the other end of the runway, it was long and the plane was not properly configured.
2
Some have battery backup, some don't.
2
The separation is 1000 feet at cruise. Flight near the ground at slower speeds can be closer, especially if in controlled airspace.
2
It isn't a QA error. It would have been the choice of the airline.
2
It has been ruled a suicide. The news stations usually do not identify people who die by suicide, but he has been reported as a male 27 years old. There is no need to know more than that. It is wrong to speculate about other factors, especially whether “diversity” is a factor.
2
I don't see anything "dirty" about the thumbnail.
2
No, they just wanted to delay release to close social media accounts.
2
It is normal for the communication to be done by the pilot who is not the pilot flying. Communications distracts from flying the aircraft.

Standards in wartime are a little different.
1
It was nighr. They were approaching it from the side, so didn't see the landing lights. They were doing other things and not giving sufficient attention to checking the airspace.
1
This has been ruled a suicide, meaning that lack of proper training was not the cause.

and other drugs.

@apexclip3458 That is a technical distinction, but when the plane is oainted with "American Airlines," people have a reasonable expectation that American Airlines is responsible. I'm not a lawyer, but when I fly on a Horizon Embraer marked with "Alaska," I would send any complaints to Slaska Airlines.

Biden has nothing to do with this. This area has been hazardous for many years. The wonder is that it hadn't happened more often.
1
Boeing isn't telling us this. The investigative agencies are.
1
It was supposed to be at 200 feet max.
1
Aerial photos show the left wing still attached.
1
Helicopters should not even be on the route when runway 33 is in use.
1
That, and maybe a shrink.
1
Yes, to recover his video.
1
Going around was a stupid idea as well.
1
No one is talking about it because it is not particularly important. These are test aircraft, being used to work out the problems before delivery. It would be bigger news if they broke while in commercial service. It is good news that they are finding a problem like this during development. By the way, you seem not to know the meaning of "fail safe." Redundancy is one thing and fail-safe is another. These links are redundant, as you said.
1
@abarratt8869 — They may not be redundant, but the video referred to redundancy. The term "fail-safe" does not apply to the thrust links. Edit: There was one case of a thrust link being severed. Since the engine did not break loose, it seems they are redundant.
1
Most likely, he was not flying the aircraft.
1
Not likely. You have it backwards.
