It was segregationists who thought that anyone with a drop of African blood should be considered "black" (they used a different term)." It's ridiculous to peroetuate such a distinction. As a color, Harris is nowhere near black. I have met people from west-central Africa who can fairly be called black, but Harris can't. "Black" can also mean a culture, applied specifically to people of African descent in the United States. Harris has no aspects of the black subculture in her speech, dress, or any other cultural characteristic. She is mainstream educated middle class, culturally. As for her "identity," she is on record speaking about her upbringing, having been taught about the unity of all humankind. That is how she presents herself to rhe public. She speaks to everyone. I'm so tired of some people constantly bringing color into the conversation when there is no point to it. When will society get over it?

While an ordinary majority is not sufficient to convict in an impeachment trial, a supermajority is not required by the 14th amendment. He has been found to have incited insurrection.

  39. "Jury of peers" is often said, but it is not written in law. We are entitled under our Constitution to an "impartial jury." I think "jury of peers" once referred to the British peerage. I suppose a peer charged with a crime could only be judged by a jury of peers.

  43. There are also war crimes on the Ukranian side. In fact, the war began because of crimes by the Ukranian government against the Russian-speaking people of eastern Ukraine. The United States has no business being militarily onvolved in Ukraine at all. This war would have been over in a few weeks had it not been for US interference. The conflict has become a US proxy war against Russia and a threat to the peace of the whole world. It is madness, but we don’t have a single US Senator who will stand up and denounce it.
