  3. I have generally supported the Democratic Party, but it seems to me that they have been extremely reckless in their handling of Ukraine. But so have been the Republicans, and the Republicans today are neofascist. The mishandling of relations with Russia has been developing for thirty years under both major political parties.

  4. Paul van Dijck — That’s certainly wrong. Strong alliances saved the freedom of the British. As long as the foreign presence is by mutual agreement, no freedom is lost because of it.

  9. Yes, the USA has contributed to the troubles in Ukraine, but no one here thinks the use of nuclear weapons in Japan is a precedent in favor of using them again. On the contrary, we think they are to be avoided. The danger is that reckless confrontation could lead to something neither side wants. I think the people most likely to use them are the Ukranians. Thank goodness they no longer have them.
