  1. I expect you are just thinking about people who use a pickup as a daily driver, but a huge number of pickups are actual work trucks. Nearly every small contractor drives a pickup, and he carries things like tools, construction materials, paint, a ladder, etc. Lawn care contractors carry a lawn mower and various tools. Then there are the highway departments, parks departments, etc. There are countless uses of pickups for work. I'm retired, so my pickup is personal transportation, but it always has a shovel in the bed so is never empty.

  2. He was definitely wrong about that, but much of his criticism is well taken, in my opinion. I don't expect anyone who actually needs a pickup for work would buy this. People with a lot of money will buy it for the "cool" factor — the people who bought Hummers.

  3. There is a reason that most pickups have a similar look. Form follows function. The type has evolved into its most practical form. The Cybertruck throws one important function overboard altogether: a conventional pickup on a ladder frame has a bed which is a separate unit. Real trucks can be purchased without the bed so that a special back can be put in its place.

  6. The F150 is the best selling vehicle because 90% of the small contractors have them. Large contractors with larger trucks also have them. Every parks department, federal, state, and local, has them. Every state highway department has them. And so on. These are practical people with a job to do. They aren't buying Ridgelines and it isn't because they don't know what they need.

  11. You are wrong about electric braking. It doesn't eliminate the need for brake pads altogether, but it does prolong their life greatly, reducing maintenance costs.
