  1. Cars1999 — That just indicates that Prius buyers are stupid. I expect they cling to the fantasy that Toyota is good and GM is bad. Why else would anyone buy a Prius after the 2nd gen Volt came out? It is clearly the best hybrid available today.

The cost of a base or “work” truck has to be kept low to compete on sales to people for whom a truck is just a tool, particularly to fleets. The truck builders make their money on the optional features that they sell to individual buyers.

  18. The bed is less than two inches shorter than the most common Chevy Colorado bed. You want it to be longer than the long bed Colorado, which is 6' 2". That doesn't make any sense. If you want a big truck, get a big truck. There are plenty of those.

  22. The expensive trucks are loaded with things you don’t need in a truck. I have a Colorado Work Truck model with just one convenience package — no crew cab; no auto trans; no 4WD; no upscale infotainment system; no fancy wheels. Well under $30,000. It isn’t luxurious, but it’s comfortable, even on long trips, and gets great gas mileage.

  23. I don’t think they are failing, although I wonder about some of their recent decisions. I bought the 2nd gen Colorado because it is exactly what I wanted. I’m hoping it will be the last vehicle I ever buy.

  31. The range has been announced as 150 or 240 miles. The battery capacities have been announced, so you can calculate the charge time based on the power of the charger used. Delivery is at least a year and a half away, so the pricing is most likely not all worked out.

  45. I lived in Minnesota for several years with only a RWD car. I put snow tires on for the winter. Keep in mind that this is a city truck. Most cities plow the streets (mostly) clear of snow.

  48. Even 4x4s get stuck, because people who drive them think they can go anywhere. Beach driving requires a properly configured vehicle, knowlege of the terrain, and, especially, knowledge of the tides. It is best to stay off the beach.
