  2. I don't see where there is a "coup." If the Republicans think Trump is a problem now*, after enabling him, they could gat rid of him easily. Just impeach him again, convict him, and declare him ineligible for federal office. That would be a coup, but a perfectly legal one. It is a radical solution, but these are dangerous times. I doubt there is a single senator who will stand up and propose anything of the sort. There isn't one whole backbone among the lot of them. *I think many Republicans in Congress secretly hoped the Democrats would get rid of him.

  3. I'm disgusted with both major political parties, but you didn't convince me to be so. I have been politically independent since 1976. I don't know who is going to save the Republic from Trump, but I don't care who does it. The problem is, there are no statesmen left in our federal government. The Republicans have always had the power to get rid of Trump, but they have enabled him instead. And the Democrats have lost two elections to him and don't understand why. It looks grim to me.
