  1. I do not believe her testimony will help her, and it might help the jury convict her if she says things that don’t make sense.

  2. The victim’s mother testified as to what she heard directly from the defendant. That is not hearsay, it is direct evidence. If some third party told her what the defendant said, that would be hearsay and inadmissible.

  3. Her lawyer would advise her that she doesn’t have to testify, but that she has the right to testify. She would be told the pros and cons and might be advised against testifying, but it is ultimately her choice.
