Every case is individual.

I’ve read that the DA offered life with the possibility of parole, no specified maximum. Now the possibilities are that, or life without parole.

I think they were real tears, but she was crying for herself. She knew she wasn’t getting out of this mess.

Of course not. Bail is denied only when a defendent is a danger to the community or a flight risk. She was probably prohibited from possessing a firearm as a condition of release. She did not commit any violent acts or attempt to flee while on bail, so your complaint is without foundation.

Every case is individual. Different state; different law; different facts; different attorneys; different jurors. The Rittenhouse verdict was an aberration, in my opinion.

She did cry.

It doesn’t matter what color they are. This is where people like Payne go wrong. She seems to have thought that it matters that she is “white” and her victim was “black.” It doesn’t matter. Those days are over, and people who refuse to recognize it are pushing their luck.

It would have been her decision whether or not to take a plea offer. The offer wasn’t a break, it was she might get anyway.

Bail is a right not easily taken away.

It was not a 20 minute verdict. The jury was out an hour and a half, including the interuption to see some evidence again.

Were there any other witnesses for the defense? I think she took the stand because she had to refute the evidence against her, and there was no one else to do it.

Sentencing is Friday. It will be life, either with or without the possibility of parole after 30 years.

Hot blood, I think. She was worked up.
