The jury is made up of ordinary citizens who are capable of recognizing a cockamamie defense when they hear it. If the prosecution fits all the pieces of evidence together into a coherent picture of the crime, they can convict. The defense cannot get to reasonable doubt merely by saying AM loved his family so one of his enemies must have done it.
