The 1964 quake created a tsunami which took out a bridge in my home towm in Oregon (the 4th Ave. bridge across the Necanicum in Seaside). Remnants are still visible.

Seaside is impossible to evacuate in the time available because of the two rivers running parallel to the beach. There are only four crossings of the Neawanna and they may not all be intact after the earthquake. There are six bridges across the Necanicum. The newest ones might survive. The best way out is to be on the south end near Hwy 101 and drive toward Portland. The catch is that the road could be blocked by a landslide or fallen tree, or a bridge across the Necanicum. You will have to drive quite a ways to get to a safe height.

I’m expecting that new development at the end of the road up Tillamook Head to be lost. I can’t imagine why anyone would live there.

Lots of people are predicting it, but nothing much is being done about it. Small towns on the Oregon and Washington coast will be leveled. My home town is one of them and it is impossible to evacuate in the time available. Nothing has been done except to put up a few signs.

No. The Missoula floods were right up there. Mount Mazama eruption. The meteor that killed the dinosaurs probably affected the PNW.
