  1. I don’t think motive is so important at this phase. Get the facts. Present them at trial. When everything known about the case is heard, a picture of the crime should emerge. Then, the motive may be evident. If it is still murky, it doesn’t much matter. How can a rational person make sense of what is inherently an irrational act?
