  3. Do you think unqualified immunity would be better? Qualified immunity is necessary. Without it, people would be suing cops all the time for nothing. We wouldn’t have police if that were the case. It doesn’t apply only to police. Any public official doing his or her job in good faith is protected. If you think you have been injured, you sue the city or other government entity. It’s the right way to handle it.
