Field Flower — The part about the engines being in the wrong place is just baloney. Engines can be almost anywhere. The increased takeoff thrust is the important difference. MCAS is just there to avoid a new type certification.

Field Flower — I said they can be anywhere, because there are examples of them everywhere. They can be on the nose, wings, or near the tail. On the wing, they can be under the wing (typical), over the wing, or in the middle. There can be combinations of nose and wing or wing and tail. There are e ampls of all of these configurations and they all fly. Wherever the engines are located, trim controls adjust the forces for level flight. The notion that thete is anything wrong with the position of the engines on the MAX is pure baloney. You can refer to the channels of airline pilots, such as blancolirio, to get an expert opinion on this point.
