  2. bob avon — MCAS is not required to “keep the plane in the air.” The point of MCAS is merely to give the MAX the same feel as the NG, so as to avoid a new type rating requirement.

  3. Moving the engines did not “throw things out of balance.” The greater takeoff thrust of the new engines requires more trim in certain circumstances to give the MAX the same feel as the NG. These people are business reporters, not engineers.
