  3. There is room for many computer languages. A lot of useful work has been done in Fortran.

  5. I took a Fortran class in college in the punched card era (1965) and got a lifetime career out of it. That was a good time to get into computing.

  6. When there is a mistake, you just take out the card with the error and put one or more cards in to replace it.

  7. The support software on the ground-based computers may have been in Fortran. I'm sure the AGCs were not programmed in Fortran.

  8. "By 1957 ..." (shows a 1953 Chevy) Fortran 77 was a good version. I lost track after that.
