  2. Meb III — It depends on the reason. If an election is very close, there has to be a hand recount. There can be problems with a ballot and the inspectors have to decide what to do with it. There can be room for argument. An election result doesn’t have to be arrived at overnight. In this case, the vote wasn’t close. It seems the large number of absentee ballots slowed the count. That suggests they just don’t have enough equipment and people. If they have to do hand counting, that would explain it. There are different systems for ballots. States that use mail-in voting have the equipment they need, because they can project the vote count.

  4. I don't carry a smart phone. Some people put everything on a smart phone, and when it is stolen by a professional phone thief, it can be very bad. If somebody takes my flip phone, they won't get anything of value.
