  1. It wasn’t a lemon, but the F-18 was mainly used by the Navy as an attack plane. The F-14 was the fleet defense plane. Now, in 2020, both planes are gone and the Super Hornet is expected to perform both roles. I don’t think that’s a good idea. It is not at the top level in the air superiority role.

  2. Kenneth Draper — Today, the US Navy flies the Super Hornet. It is still called F-18, but it is a different aircraft. Only the Blue Angels fly the original Hornet.
