  4. Gilles De Roo — This is not accurate. The Max has more powerful engines than the NG, so the pitch-up force is greater, but all aircraft with the engines hung below the center of mass will have a pitch-up force under power. The Max is not fundamentally different. The MCAS is an automatic trim assist intended to make the handling characteristics more like the NG, but it is not necessary to fly the aircraft.
