  1. Pakman, for once, missed it. The guy from Rhode Island voted for Trump in 2016 because he didn’t want to vote for Clinton. That’s completely understandable. He called it a “joke” vote, but it is usually called a “protest” vote. He didn’t expect Trump to win, as a lot of people, including many Sanders supporters who decided not to vote at all. That’s democratic politics. Every individual makes a choice, and it doesn’t have to make sense according to Pakman’s thinking or that of anyone else. I cast a protest vote once, in the first election in which I voted. In retrospect, it didn’t make sense, but it doesn’t much matter. I have no regrets. I am happy and relieved this year. I’m glad to be a part of throwing the rascal out.
