  1. This is a stupid idea. The District is just a city, not suitable for statehood for several reasons. The federal District should not be a part of any state. It would make more sense to merge most of the District back into Maryland, but then the Democrats would lose the electoral votes, so that won’t happen. The Democrats have serious work to do and this cockamamie idea isn’t helping.
