  1. Kettles are for tea drinkers, mostly. We have electric coffeemakers. When we do need to heat water, we do it on the stovetop, because a 120V outlet does not provide enough power to heat water quickly. A 240V outlet at the kitchen counter would be useful for serious water heating.
