  2. I'm not sure they ever properly learned. They were responsible for just as much horror as the Third Reich, but because Germany turned on them and they switched sides, they never had to atone for any of the evil things they did. Germany would not be what it is now if not for that atonement, and Russia has now a deeply seeded sickness in its culture.
