  1. China isnt known for following the spec in a lot of cases either. It took them decades just to adhere to not using lead paint on American products, and American companies had to constantly test the paint on everything coming out of manufacturing sites in China.

  14. Peter has a pretty strong track record. Thats why his books have blown up. If you listen to him more often, you'll see that his content is primarily about problems as they arise, and forecasting timelines for those problems, but he does talk about positive things, and potential solutions.

  19. A good example of "applied AI" is what is happening in the digital art world currently. At first glance, a LOT of what you see is beautiful, but it's extremely limited, and it can't do much of anything outside of what information it's been given. Meaning, it requires creative and quality art to be plugged into it for anything to come out, and subsequently it is really just a plagiarism machine. That's not particularly applicable, but it does point toward a trajectory of it becoming applicable eventually
