A good example of "applied AI" is what is happening in the digital art world currently. At first glance, a LOT of what you see is beautiful, but it's extremely limited, and it can't do much of anything outside of what information it's been given. Meaning, it requires creative and quality art to be plugged into it for anything to come out, and subsequently it is really just a plagiarism machine. That's not particularly applicable, but it does point toward a trajectory of it becoming applicable eventually

@lp712 yes it absolutely is plagiarism. An algorithm is absolutely NOT the same as a human learning. That is a lie that people are telling themselves to justify using the tech. In reality it's basically the programmatic equivalent of tracing, and THAT is why there are so many plagiarism lawsuits already, and there will be more. Dont be fooled. You only get something out of it if you put something in, and you dont have legal permission to use any of the things you put in. Its non-negotiable.

@lp712 you're the one living on emotion, son. If you knew what you were talking about you wouldnt even be here arguing. Why dont you do a little research and educate yourself. Go see what those lawsuits are about. There are dozens already and dozens more in the works on numerous continents. Do yourself a favor and learn before speaking. As for the general direction of AI, were a couple of decades away from AI being able to sustain without the use of human artwork to plagiarize from. Yeah it's coming, but not THAT fast. You're going to feel the urge to argue, but dont, OK. You're wrong, and you need to swallow that pride and educate yourself
