As a person who lives in a city where 80% of jobs are in service and retail, I imagine a four-day workweek would have a similar effect to what increased the cost of labor through minimum wage increases have had, namely increasing automation and making employment opportunities more scarce for low skilled workers particularly for the young and minorities.
