  1. I think that sometimes consumers want cheaper products with shorter life expectancies for good reason. When I buy cables and adapters for electronics, I buy the cheapest I can get because they get left behind in hotels or lost in drawers, and they will be replaced with a new standard within a couple of years. I also own a two hundred dollar indestructible umbrella because I'm sick of cheap ones turning inside out during a rainstorm like they did my entire childhood, I no longer lose umbrellas, nor do I care if they are in style.
