Also, every president since at least the 70s has promised to return America to the manufacturing power it was in the 50s in order to bring back high paying blue collar jobs. If it were that easy to devalue the currency to revive American exports, somebody would have done it already. There are entrenched interests that benefit from a strong dollar, and they probably have a lot more sway over American policy than a new Fed chairman would. American manufacturing will never come back as long as there are countries with low wage bases, high education, legal certainty, and access to capital. Everybody knows it, but all politicians pretend they don't. Trump does all his thinking out loud and does almost none of the things he verbally brainstorms. He does it because people like you take him seriously and then panic, giving him the upper hand. TRUMP IS PLAYING YOU. You are just embarrassing yourselves.
