  1. My father was a huge Trekkie. He would take me and my brother to conventions every year and we used to watch TNG, DS9, and even Voyager religiously. After the third episode in a row where captain Archer from Enterprise was tied to a chair and beaten I swore off Star Trek. When my father called me to come watch the first episode of Discovery with him, because he thought Michelle Yeoh was the new captain, I came to realize I had made the right decision almost two decades earlier. The series is dead to me. Not even fond memories of my late father could entice me to consider watching another. I'm not even mad at them anymore. I just don't care.
