  1. Dredd was such a great film. I've watched it almost as many times as movies I have nostalgia for. Headley puts in a great performance but Urban takes the cake. His willingness to stretch his talents to emote through the mask in order to stay true to the character does not get enough respect. If Kurt Russel can emote with only his eyes in Soldier, Urban can do it with just his chin in Dredd. One of the absolute best parts of the movie is that Dredd acts consistently as the sorta Lawful/Neutral embodiment of cold ruthless justice. Seeing judge Anderson's transformation from teacher's pet to cunning enforcer under Dredd's tutelage is great character development. My only gripe is that Dredd didn't fail her in the end for losing her weapon. He told her in the beginning that losing her weapon would mean an automatic fail. If Dredd had failed her anyway and she freely admitted it but had showed that she was confident she would pass even Dredd's standards the next time that would have been the best was to show that she had fully integrated the lessons she had learned from the iconic hero and could fully stand on her own two feet.
