This is why no institution should ever decide that a politician is Hitler. There are no limits on the crimes you are justified in committing to stop Hitler. Once an institution has broken the dam to stop a politician by any means necessary, there is no stopping the water till it's all run to the ocean. When the people at the top are praised for calling a politician a threat to the country, that justifies everybody all the way down the chain of command doing the same when they don't like the Commander-in-Chief. Now that it's been proven an effective tool of politics, it's probably going to require the establishment of "mutually assured destruction" to convince politicians that they can no longer use the military as an arm of their political party because politicians of all stripes love any abuse of power that they aren't regularly the victims of.
