  1. The Palestinian state has grown into a convenient forever excuse for local Arab governments who want it as an issue to prove their Islamic bona fides or redirect anger from their own citizens. As such, none of them would benefit from a two-state solution, which is why they have supported voices in Palestine that call for the dissolution of any Jewish state, knowing that Israel can never support such a solution and thus the conflict will exist forever. Many of the countries that used Israel as a convenient scapegoat for their own internal political unrest were willing to make peace with Israel to get access to newfound Israeli oil or defense technologies and to prevent the Iranians from toppling their governments by exporting the Iranian revolution to their Shia populations, but then Washington pivoted to appeasing Iran and attacking the anti-Iranian coalition led by Saudi, forcing those countries to try to make a separate peace with the Iranians under the umbrella of their new Chinese backers, thus threatening to end the normalization of relations between Israel and its Arab neighbors. When America angered its Sunni allies by making overtures to Iran, the Chinese pounced so that they can try to replace the US as the guarantor of peace in the Middle East in exchange for oil.
